Amenities and Etiquette

The Pring Guesthouse is Hamilton’s first – and only – backpackers’ hostel. We have been welcoming the world to Hamilton since 2010! This is a friendly, informal place to rest your head, and our purpose is to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We provide affordable accommodation to tourists and travellers from all over the world. If you have never stayed in a hostel before, why not give it a try? We provide the opportunity to mix with people from every country on the map, and meet a diverse range of people in a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. 

• Full kitchen for guests’ use – pots and pans, plates, mugs: everything you need to make your own meals
• Comfortable lounge – comfy couches and a big dining table, so you can work or relax as you choose
• Bathroom on each floor – with towels, shampoo, and other necessities provided
• Knowledgeable staff – we absolutely do our best to help with anything you might need
• Well stocked library – fiction and non fiction, as well as kids’ books and toys
• Free wifi throughout the building – as well as a guest computer in the lounge, we have fast and reliable wifi throughout
• Backyard – private and fenced, for anyone who wants to smoke, or just relax when the weather’s fine
• Free tea, coffee and hot chocolate – we keep the kitchen stocked with as many goodies as we can
• Free lockers – locks provided in the dormitories, so you can feel safe and secure
• No lock-out or curfew – come and go as you choose, but be considerate if you’re moving around late at night
• Inclusive and accepting – we are absolutely always welcoming to everyone
• All bedding provided – no need to bring anything
• Cosy – central heating and air conditioning create a perfect atmosphere

Check-in and check-out information

Please Note: we require 24 hours notice for cancellations or guests will be charged one night’s stay.

Check in: 2pm onward – but if you are going to arrive after 10pm, please contact us in advance
Check out: 12 noon or earlier – if you need to stay a bit later, please arrange this in advance

Bad behaviour: we reserve the right to require you to leave if you are are abusive or threatening to staff or guests
